Fly Fare
For my Professional Diploma in UX Design, I speculatively redesigned the flight booking process for mobile.
My focus was on improving the
-
flight search,
-
fare, seat and luggage selection
so that it was more intuitive and easier to use.

The Challenge
Booking flights through mobile applications can be challenging due to confusing interfaces, slow loading times and occasional payment failures.
The Goal
To design and build a clickable prototype that improves the booking process that can be tested with users, along with a detailed set of annotations for the development team.
My Role
-
UX | UI designer
Target Audience
People who choose low cost budget airlines for both business and leisure travel.

Conclusion
What I learned from the project
-
Keep a brief journal of all projects.
-
Every user brings a unique point of view and with research, usability testing is vital.
-
a 50 page competitive benchmark document is probably too long and team mates probably wont want to read it.
-
If possible do affinity diagramming in person with a group as working online on Miro with very large groups can be challenging with systems lag and limited communication.
-
When mapping a customer journey I am telling a story to get stakeholders and team mates on board.
What I would do differently nextime
-
More usability testing - this is the fastest way to gather data about user experience.
-
Present a one a page comparative summary document of all 4 airlines at the end of the competitive benchmark analysis.
-
Use colour for inline validation.
-
Speak to a developer earlier on in the process.
