RTC
As part of a small voluntary team I redesigned the tennis club's website for mobile.
My focus was on
-
modern, mobile-first approach
-
enhancing navigation
-
optimising key user flows

The Challenge
Volunteer-run websites often face the following obstacles
-
lack of funding / time
-
limited technical expertise
-
inconsistent content updates
This leads to the following ;
-
mobile optimization challenges
-
user experience and navigation issues
-
lack of promotion and SEO
The Goal
The redesign aims to prioritise a responsive layout, enhance navigation and optimise key user flows to improve engagement, boost membership sign-ups and provide a smoother digital experience for both new and existing users.

Conclusion
What I learned from the project
-
With budget constraints, limited time it made sense be open to using template website solutions.
-
The customization and limitations of templates.
-
Various AI tools were invaluable for researching our users, for content and code creation which helped speed up the process.
The Wins
-
Redesign to more familiar site navigation patterns and conventions have eased friction around the navigation to court booking system, membership and coaching information on mobile.
The Fails
-
Assign a content author to collect and verify all content, document versions, and links to ensure they are up to date. This would have saved time on design and development rather than spending it on content checking.
